It was a cold winter\u2019s night like this one when Patrick spent his first\u00a0<\/span>terrifying night on the street.\u00a0<\/span>He didn\u2019t know it then, but he was to be homeless for another decade to come.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was 69 and living on the streets. I didn\u2019t care if I lived or died \u2013 that\u2019s the truth of it. I could see no hope…\u201d \u202f\u2014\u202fPatrick<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was only when he turned to Depaul \u2014 when your kindness came into his life \u2014 that his path out of homelessness began.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Imagine how you\u2019d feel if all your worldly possessions fit in a few carrier bags. That\u2019s how it was for Patrick.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
