The Harm Reduction Floating Support Service was initially established in 2005. Its purpose was to act as an add on service to our Foyle Haven Day Centre, ensuring service users with addiction issues were able to maintain their tenancies within the wider community. Due to an increased demand, additional funding was secured in 2013 to expand the service and the Harm Reduction Floating Support Service was established as a stand alone service.
Depaul’s Harm Reduction Floating Support Service aims to prevent homelessness. The service provides one to one support to assist people who are experiencing difficulties with their tenancy and are at risk of homelessness due to alcohol and substance use.
We visit people in their own homes and tailor the support we offer to meet individual needs.
The service is community-based and operates in Derry City and the surrounding areas.
The service is delivered in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Supporting People.
The Harm Reduction Floating Support Service will accept referrals from any other external service in the Voluntary or Statutory sector. Self referrals are also welcome for anyone who feels they require additional support at home.
