On Thursday 20th December, PwC, in collaboration with Honeywell, East Belfast Mission and Home-Start (South & East Belfast), donated a substantial array of toys and presents, bringing smiles and joy to many faces. The impact of such generosity on Depaul’s service users will be immediate and profound. The generosity of PwC’s gifts means that all 67 families currently in our Depaul Northern Ireland services will have the opportunity to receive something meaningful this Christmas with gifts that will bring laughter and excitement to the children.
This donation gives us the perfect moment to acknowledge and appreciate PwC’s support. Their commitment to helping the community and contributing to a cause as vital as Depaul’s family services deserves immense recognition. It’s through partnerships like these that we can foster a stronger, more supportive community for all. Such events are pivotal in creating positive and inspirational moments for our service users. We would especially like to thank Benny Miskelly, Caitlin Lawlor and James Grego, who really used their initiative to pull together this amazing donation.
In the backdrop of this event was the tireless work of the Project Group Manager at Mater Dei, Bernadette Donaghy and the Family Services team. Her role in building relationships within the community has been instrumental in creating spaces for events like these. Bernadette’s dedication to fostering strong community ties has not only facilitated this wonderful donation event but has also set a foundation for future collaborations and support.
Bernadette said, “This has been a tremendous contribution to Family Services in Northern Ireland and beyond. Christmas is a difficult time for many people, especially those who are homeless and without somewhere to call a home, where they feel safe, warm and secure. At Depaul we pride ourselves in collaborative working partnerships that span across communities, cultures, inclusion, acceptance and respect. These values are paramount and are implemented throughout our projects and services. The gifts will go a long way to ensure that our Service Users and their children enjoy a magical Christmas. Our team would like to take this opportunity to thank PwC and all their staff for thinking of homeless families at this time of year”.
One of our Service Users said “I want to thank you so much for the Christmas gifts for the kids. It has eased my mind and the kids will have a better Christmas thanks to you. Mum usually helps everyone but she is struggling to keep up with everything. So thank you again I really appreciate it for making Christmas brighter”.
As you can see, the staff and Service Users at our Family Services have been completely overwhelmed by this display of generosity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to PwC for their generous contribution and to Depaul staff for their ongoing commitment to building a strong and supportive community with a shared goal of helping those in need find a path home.
