Foyle Haven Day Centre was established in 2001 by a group of committed people from the local community who wanted to provide support to local street drinkers. Demand for its service grew to such a degree that in 2010 it needed to amalgamate with a national charity to ensure sustainability into the future. In 2011, Foyle Haven amalgamated with Depaul.
Foyle Haven is a Day Centre which supports adults who are experiencing homelessness, addiction, poor mental health or social isolation. Each individual is allocated a key worker on entry to the service who will establish specific needs and work towards a person centred support plan to help the individual reach their full potential. Foyle Haven is a low threshold harm reduction Centre. Foyle Haven staff are also the commissioned naloxone trainers in the Western Area, therefore the provision of naloxone and training for individuals, family members and external agents is also available for anyone experiencing addiction.
Foyle Haven Day Centre works with people in Derry and surrounding areas.
Foyle Haven works in close partnership with The Northern Ireland Housing Executive, The Public Health Agency, and The Western Trust, Police Service of Northern Ireland, First Housing, City Centre Initiative Derry, St Vincent Depaul, Addiction Treatment Unit Woodlea House Gransha Hospital, Social Services, Western Drugs and Alcohol Consortium Trust.
Individuals can be referred to Foyle Haven through a third party, external agent or self referral via phone or direct access.
