The Depaul volunteer department is dedicated to maintaining a quality programme where volunteers and service users alike can unlock their potential and learn from each other in a supportive environment.
Depaul provides services to a wide range of client groups and we would not be able to provide added value services for them without the time, energy and commitment of our volunteers.
In 2015 Depaul became the first cross-border charity to achieve the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) standard mark for good practice in volunteering. We maintained this standard in 2018
Our volunteers help us tremendously by carrying out a wide range of roles across services, administration, fundraising and communications.
Volunteers in our services help service users feel valued, feel at home and also help them to develop a sense of self-worth and confidence. Our service users come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have a range of complex issues. These may include mental health issues, domestic violence, bereavement, unemployment, alcohol and addiction issues, etc.
Those who volunteer by helping us with administration tasks and in our Fundraising & Communications Department, provide vital assistance in supporting the work of our services and to those experiencing homelessness.
Some of our most common roles include Receptionist, Musician, Breakfast Club, Arts & Crafts, Cooking Classes, and Weekend Activities.
Part-time volunteers give a minimum of 2-4 hours per week.
Full-time volunteers give 20+ hours per week.
These hours may vary depending on the specific role or volunteer’s availability.
