History:

Deerpark House in Cork, originally owned by the Christian Brothers, was developed by St Vincent de Paul as a service originally providing long term housing to men experiencing homelessness.

Over the years it has developed from long term supported accommodation to providing a transitional support service for people to move from homelessness. Deerpark House was transferred to Depaul in 2021.

What we do:

Deerpark House is an oasis of calm in Cork city, providing people with the opportunity to move from emergency homeless services and develop the skills and strategies to move on to their own accommodation or other more appropriate support. The current capacity of the service is 53. Most rooms are en-suite, with laundry and some meals provided. There are facilities for developing skills and interests using our kitchens, communal areas and extensive grounds.

An expert team of key-workers and social care staff are on site 24 hours a day, supported by our facilities team, and all residents are appointed a keyworker to ensure they can access the services they require and receive the appropriate support.
