History:

Ozanam House opened its doors in 2004. The service was transferred to Depaul’s care by St. Vincent de Paul in 2021. For the first time, in January 2022, the service opened its doors to women as well as men.

What we do:

Ozanam House welcomes men and women with complex health needs who are experiencing homelessness. The 31-bed high-support accommodation offers meals and round-the-clock support for residents. The service is a short-term accommodation service, and residents, with the care support of their designated caseworker, will work towards independent living within 6 months. Each resident will be supported in applying for relevant services to support their needs including a Medical Card, access to a GP, Dentist, opening a Bank Account and obtaining a proof of address.

Ozanam House also offer an emergency bed service where people in need can call up from 9pm and provided with a hot meal, shower, change of clothes and a bed for the night. They are then connected with other services in the area to get long-term support as needed.

In the winter months, when the temperature drops, Ozanam House runs a cold bed initiative on behalf of Wexford County Council, and the bed will be offered to anyone eligible.
