What we do:
Sundial House offers a holistic harm reduction response for each resident based on the principles of alcohol management. The service accommodates 30 people, men and women, single people and couples in en-suite accommodation. The project is staffed on a 24/7 basis, with meals provided and there are laundry facilities and onsite nursing support.
A key worker and Health Care Assistant is appointed to all residents to ensure they can access the supports they require in relation to managing alcohol use, the promotion of activities of daily living and personal health care needs. Sundial House provides warm, homely and long-term accommodation for people with complex mental health, intellectual disability, alcohol addiction and needs, providing them with the help they need to live healthy and positive lives.
Where we operate:
Sundial House is situated in Dublin 8.
Accessibility Information:
This building has five floors, all of which are accessible by lift. Wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities are available throughout the building, and there are two bedrooms specifically designed for wheelchair users.
There are two entrances to the building:
1. Client entrance: The main client entrance has a short but relatively steep slope. While the building is generally accessible, some wheelchair users or people with mobility aids may require assistance when entering or leaving the building due to the gradient.
2. Staff entrance: The staff entrance has a small number of steps outside the building and a further small number of steps immediately inside the entrance. This entrance is therefore not step-free.
Most internal routes are accessible. Some corridor doors may be slightly more difficult to use independently for people using wheelchairs or larger mobility aids, as opening the door and manoeuvring through it at the same time can be awkward.
Staff are on site 24 hours a day. On-site carer support is also available for residents who require it.
Partners:
Sundial House is run in partnership with Túath Housing. We also work closely with other agencies including Saint James Hospital, Dublin Region Homeless Executive, Dublin City Council and Dublin Simon.
Referrals:
All referrals are accepted through Dublin Region Homeless Executive Central Placement Service and Dublin City Council.
