History:

Back Lane has been providing support to vulnerable men for over 100 years. In 2015, Back Lane Hostel celebrated 100 years of supporting homeless men in Dublin City. The occasion was marked by a visit from the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins.

What we do:

Back Lane hostel is a 62-bed accommodation service with a well-deserved reputation for providing good quality accommodation, food and support for homeless men in Dublin. The project provides direct access, emergency and short-term accommodation on a six-month basis for 44 single homeless men. There are also 18 Long term beds for some of society’s most vulnerable male adults.

Two rooms are fully wheelchair accessible with single bedrooms. All residents have access to bathroom and shower facilities. At Back Lane the residents also have access to a communal pool room, library and television lounge.

During their stay, all residents are appointed a keyworker to ensure they can access the services they require and receive the appropriate support.

Referrals:

Referrals are accepted through Dublin Region Homeless Executive Central Placement Service.
