Family Floating Support
History:

Approximately 6 years ago Depaul’s Cloverhill family accommodation based service ran a pilot project to quantify the need for a floating support service to support families moving on from Depaul’s family accommodation based services. The project clearly identified a gap in supports leading to Family Services Floating Support service been established. This vital service now provides support to NIHE family hostels.

What we do:

Family Floating Support supports families living in the community who are at greater risk of tenancy failure and homlessness. The service provides timely targeted interventions that meet the specific needs of each family.

Every family will have different needs so as soon as engagement begins they are appointed a support worker who will work with them to create and implement a personalised support plan depending on their families individual needs. The support is very flexible and can last for as long or short a time as needed, though not normally longer than two years at any one time. The service is also flexible in that families can re-refer back in as many times as needed for support.

Where we operate:

This service works in the Greater Belfast and Lisburn areas.

Partners:

Supporting People and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Referrals:

Families can be referred through Depaul family accommodation based services, the Northern Ireland Housing ExecutiveSocial Services or families can self-refer by contacting the service directly.
